Australia-USA Trivia Night

The American Australian Association Ltd's first Australia-USA Trivia night was held at James Squire Brewhouse and Restaurant, King Street Wharf, Sydney on 24 September.

It was a fun but challenging event, with over 60 AAA Ltd members and friends participating.

Guests attended with some terrific teams. Standout team was Team Rooty Hill 90210, who wore matching t-shirts and caps designed especially for the event. The US Consulate team won the night, with a good number of Australians on the team to help out with the local questions, in addition to their American staff.

The Association will hold another Trivia Night in the New Year, in a quieter location and with easier questions. Thanks all to those who participated, our members, and our sponsors, Australian Jockey Club, James Squire Brewhouse & Restaurant and Major League Baseball.

USS Blue Ridge Visits Sydney

Over 100 US sailors from the USS Blue Ridge were guests in the homes of American Australian Association Ltd members and friends during their recent visit to Sydney. Association members were also treated to invite-only tours of the USS Blue Ridge.

The Association hosts sailors on US naval vessels when they come in to port through their program, Hospitality in the Home. This program has been a mainstay of the Association for decades and provides many sailors a chance to mingle with Australians and experience Australian food and culture for the first time.

Interested in learning more about Hospitality in the Home? Contact Lisa Levar, Director of Corporate and Member Programs at 02 9338 6989 or membership@aaa-aus.org.
