The visit by Deputy Secretary of Defence Lynn is the highest ranking US government official to visit Australia since President Obama was sworn in.

Also in attendance were Deputy Assistant Secretary for Defence for Cyber and Space Policy Robert J Butler, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Defence for Asia and Southeast Asia Robert Scher, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Defence for Public Affairs Bryan G Whitman, other high-ranking US military staff , and representatives from Thales, Microsoft, Cisco, Nuix, Dragonfly Technologies, the Attorney General’s Office, Australian Department of Defence, and The Centre for International Security Studies at the University of Sydney.

The intimate gathering allowed for plenty of interaction, and guests remained afterward to continue the discussion.

Peter Sinclair, Chairman and Mary-Louise Williams, Director of the Australian National Maritime Museum, gave the Deputy Secretary and his staff a tour of the museum’s USA Gallery. The Association thanks the Museum for their generous assistance in co-hosting this event.
