Not So Trivial

AAA Ltd Trivia Night 24 September 2009

It was a fun but challenging event, with over sixty members and friends participating. Guests attended as some terrific teams, including:

Macquarie (2 teams)
Australian Jockey Club (AJC)
United States Studies Centre (USSC)
James Squire Brewhouse & Restaurant
US Consulate-General, Sydney
Newscorp
AAA Ltd members

The standout team was 'Team Rooty Hill 90210', who wore matching t-shirts and caps designed especially for the event.

The questions covered US and Australian:
history
culture and arts
politics
sports
geography including the states and territories of the US and Australia

The subjects challenged the assembled minds and the overall scores were good. Despite some concerns about the difficulty, nearly every question was correctly answered by one of the teams.

The winning team was the team from the US Consulate; they had a good number of Australians on the team to help out with the local questions, in addition to their American staff.

The evening was fun and everyone enjoyed themselves despite the background noise, which detracted somewhat from the evening.

The Association will hold another Trivia Night in the New Year, in a quieter location and with easier questions.

Thanks all to those who participated, our members, and our sponsors, Australian Jockey Club/AJC, James Squire Brewhouse & Restaurant and Major League Baseball.
