Dinner to Honour Jeanne Pratt AC, Anthony Pratt and the Pratt Family
Jeanne Pratt AC, Anthony Pratt and the Pratt family will be honoured at the American Australian Association Ltd’s Benefit Dinner, to be held in Melbourne on Thursday 8 April 2010.
The Pratt Family
Under the stewardship of the late Richard Pratt, Visy has become a global leader in sustainable packaging and recycling. Today the tradition of family leadership continues with Richard’s widow, Jeanne Pratt AC as Co-chair of Visy, and son Anthony as Executive Chairman. Daughters Heloise Waislitz and Fiona Geminder and their husbands oversee the Thorney investment group and the separately owned, Pact packaging group respectively.
The 2010 Benefit Dinner will also pay tribute to the late Richard Pratt, who passed away in 2009.
The Pratt Foundation
The philanthropic work carried out through the Pratt Foundation is prolific and wide-ranging. Founded by Richard and Jeanne Pratt in 1978, the Foundation assists the community in a number of areas, including medical research, the arts, and education.
The AAA Inc Education Fund
The 2010 AAA Ltd Benefit Dinner will also acknowledge the current AAA Inc Education Fellows. The Association’s Education Fund provides graduate educational opportunities in the United States and Australia. Since the programme launched in 1998, more than 90 Fellows have received awards. In 2009, 11 Australian Fellows were selected to pursue study in the USA and in 2010, 5 American Fellows were selected to come to Australia to pursue further studies.

AAA Ltd follows the model established by the Association in New York by having Benefit Dinners in Australia each year that recognize prominent Australians and Americans who have contributed to the relationship between the US and Australia.
